I wanted to start by reaching out and sharing a bit of my heart with you. For a long time, skincare wasn't easy for me. Growing up, I had very delicate skin that seemed to react negatively to almost everything I tried. Whether it was a simple cleanup or just trying to find a moisturizer that didn't sting, my skin would often flare up or feel irritated.
That personal struggle was embedded deep in memories as I grew older and more mature. It took me a lot of time, self-motivation, and courage to rekindle this thought and challenge myself to take it up with an honesty that I always thought of.
I also used to wonder if it’s possible to create a product in its purest form with no chemicals or preservatives at all, and one with a decent shelf life and that is reasonably priced. I wanted to prove that you could have premium quality - like our ₹200 Lip Nectar or ₹300 artisanal soaps - without the inflated prices or harsh additives often found in "trendy" brands.
The Journey of a "Mad Scientist"
To get there, I had to dive deep. My path wasn't a straight line - it was a long process of trying and testing countless ingredient combinations. I spent years studying the science behind every herb and oil, consulting with Ayurvedic and skin experts, and running trial after trial until I finally created a tested formula for each product.
Some of my long-term clients now affectionately call me a "mad scientist" because of this. I take that as a huge compliment! It reflects the meticulous attention to detail and the "labour of love" I put into every single bottle to make sure it’s perfect for you.
During those early days of my journey, I also began holding stalls at organic markets. Interacting with you directly and seeing the positive response to my creations helped me build the confidence I needed to take this mission forward.
Replacing "Aqua" with "Super-Water"
One of the most important things I discovered during my research was that most skincare is mostly just "Aqua" - plain water. I felt your skin deserved more. So, I turned to a traditional method called Kashayam.
Instead of using plain water, we create a medicinal decoction right here in-house. I source raw, seasonal plants like Neem, Manjishta, and Amla at their peak and slow-simmer them using a 16:4 ratio - which means we boil 16 parts of water down until only 4 parts of nutrient-dense "Super-Water" remain. This liquid carries the true life force of the plants directly into your skin, helping it penetrate much more deeply than plain water ever could.
I experimented with diverse flowers like jasmine, rose, and marigold to capture their honest, natural essence, testing countless combinations to understand how each behaved in oil. Many batches failed, some lost their aroma, others turned too heavy or unstable, but each iteration refined the balance between purity, texture, and scent.
Over time, through patient trials and small successes, I arrived at blends that truly preserved the freshness and depth of the botanicals. The products you see on our site are a result of this journey of persistence, learning, and respect for traditional methods shaped through continuous experimentation.
